The NightwatcherThis young artist, who goes by The Nightwatcher, began experimenting with digital photo manipulation during his teenage years, focusing on the horror and macabre genres. In 2007, The Nightwatcher began doing street art in the form of stencils and stickers, with artwork that was reflective of the highly charged socio-political climate he was exposed to in Tehran.

He came to Malaysia in 2010 to study Graphic Design, under the auspices of the Nottingham Trent University. Since then The Nightwatcher has had two formal exhibitions, and continues to produce and exhibits his stencil art on canvas. He has also entered competitions and won a few awards along the way.

The Nightwatcher is fluent in English and Persian and familiar with new media, Pop culture, experimental photography and ambient art, atmospheric designs and installations as a result of numerous street art projects. He currently does freelance graphic design work, and is involved with a number of logo design, editorial design, as well as T-shirt graphics projects.

At present, six of his works are on display at Artemis Art as part of our regular hang in between focused exhibition periods. These stencil spray paint on canvas works cover various themes, and pay tribute to iconic individuals, paintings and photographs that will be familiar to many.
