11 Apr AMPLIFY
While most of us are probably familiar with the name Faber-Castell as makers of writing products, many may not realize the company also manufactures and markets a wide range of fine art materials, such as graphites, color pencils, and watercolor pencils.
Faber-Castell Malaysia presents its inaugural art exhibition, AMPLIFY, held at two locations beginning April 7, 2016. The first part of the exhibition was held at Faber-Castell’s kiosk located at the 3rd floor of Mid Valley Megamall, beginning 2pm on April 7, and was exhibited there until April 10. For the second part, from April 11 to 17, Artemis Art hosts this exhibition, which features 35 artworks by twelve very talented artists.
In a world where we’re constantly bombarded with imagery and messages through social media and other online channels, AMPLIFY invites us to take a short break from the sometimes mindless barrage, to contemplate the world as seen through the eyes and talent of these twelve artists.
Faber-Castell Malaysia’s inaugural art exhibition is truly a breakthrough for many of the participating artists. Using products from Faber-Castell’s Art & Graphic Range, the works on exhibit successfully showcase and amplify the talent possessed by this pool of artists. We trust that the wider community will enjoy these works as much as we have and we wish all the artists above the very best in their respective journeys.
The participating artists in AMPLIFY are Ajim Juxta, Barbara Moore, Carolyn Chua, Charles Mawan, CK Khaw, ERYN, Fadzwan Roslan, King Wey Heng (PhD), Sazri, Monica Lee, Selamat Cumat, and Sharon Kow Siew Suan.
In addition to the artworks by these twelve talented artists, we have on display two pencil sculptures specially commissioned by Faber-Castell. Made from the iconic Castell 9000 pencils, both sculptures were flown in to Kuala Lumpur specially for the AMPLIFY exhibition.
AMPLIFY at Mid Valley Megamall
