Born 1989 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Alexandra Hon’s aspiration of becoming an artist was seeded at the age of 12 when she took an interest in oil painting upon frequently visiting an Artist Village in the city. This spurred her to forge ahead in studying art after finishing high school, receiving her Diploma in Fine Art from the Malaysian Institute of Art.

In 2010, Alexandra took a big step in studying overseas in London, United Kingdom, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Painting from Wimbledon College of Art within two years, then continuing on with her studies by taking on Wimbledon’s MFA Fine Art course.

Over the years, Alexandra’s art practice constantly evolves with multidisciplinary approaches, leading to works comprising of paintings, wood carvings, installation works and sculptures, shown in various exhibitions both in Malaysia and London.

Her various bodies of work focus on the complexities and conundrums of human interpersonal relationships, exploring the emotions of social interconnectivities, between individuals and within families, or on a larger scale looking at society as a whole.
